Campaign Story

East Africa is facing a catastrophe. The extent of suffering that is currently taking place means that millions are facing imminent death.

Somalia's experiencing the worst humanitarian disaster of recent times. The UN say they've seen nothing like it before.

Brutal conflict and drought has led to famine, food scarcity and extreme levels of poverty. Children are suffering from severe malnutrition. 16 million people in East Africa are on the brink of death and 23 million are in urgent need of food, water and medical treatment.

A donation, however small, is a really effective way to support Penny Appeals work as it allows them to provide aid where there is greatest need for it right now. Your contribution will provide life-saving food, medical aid or shelter in Somalia; it will support their orphans and the elderly people they care for; it also will help to provide clean water or nutritious meals.

Penny Appeal

Penny Appeal was set up in 2009 to provide poverty relief across Asia, the Middle East and Africa by offering water solutions, organising mass feedings, supporting orphan care and providing emergency food and medical aid.

Since then they have transformed lives and empowered communities around the world, helping to break the poverty cycle and build brighter futures.

Their work and their teams have grown considerably in the past few years, allowing them to launch many new campaigns and work in even more crisis-hit countries.

Somalia Famine - East Africa Emergency Response

Penny Appeal has teams on the ground and works with other charities and delivery partners to get life-saving aid directly to those who need it the most in the aftermath if an emergency. This campaign could help stop the suffering in Somalia.
